This Bitesize-DIY Course introduces you to domestic plumbing in the UK.
Most importantly, you will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent and deal with a Plumbing emergency in your own home.

This short “Bitesize DIY” Course could be just for you.
What you will learn….
- How Plumbing works in the UK, and in your home
- How to isolate your water supply in an emergency
- How to look for potential plumbing issues in your home, so that you can rectify them before they become expensive
- Understand how your Central Heating system works, and learn how to deal with common issues
- How to talk to Tradespeople & what to expect when they carry out plumbing work for you.
- Above all, you will have a much greater understanding of how your plumbing works, and potentially save yourself money in emergency repairs
At bePractical DIY, we are here to guide you through learning DIY skills, demystifying it and equipping you with the essential know-how to tackle DIY tasks confidently in your own home.
What we provide……
We will provide all materials, tools etc. However, if you want to bring along your own tools, ongoing projects etc. then feel free to do so.
We also have hot drinks – tea, coffee etc. Feel free to bring your own additional refreshments, if you want to.
What should you bring……
We recommend wearing old clothing, and sturdy shoes.
If you would like to bring your own PPE (Personal Protectve Equipment), please feel free to do so. We will proide PPE, but we know that some people would prefer to use their own. (We recommend that you mark them up with your names, so that you can identify them)
We are confident that you will go home with new DIY confidence, and raring to get on with some DIY tasks at home.

The shop has been been cunningly hidden behind the large scaffolding installation currently surrounding Gilton House. Head towards St Peter’s Hospice Shop, and you will see bePractical DIY Workshop just on the left, behind the scaffolding.
