bePractical DIY Clubs
Our DIY Clubs have been extremely popular. We’ve really enjoyed them, and the feedback has been really positive.
Many participants have gained the confidence to go home and start DIY projects which had been on their “To Do” list for months. Every week we have been shown photos of successful DIY projects. We’re loving this.
We are trying something new this term We are running an Intermediate DIY Club on Tuesday evenings, rather than a DIY Club for beginners.
This Intermediate DIY Club is running because of prequests from participants on previous DIY Clubs who wanted to move their skills and knowledge up to the next level.
We will be running a Beginners DIY Club in April – dates to come soon.
We have now scheduled new Early Spring 2024 terms of 5-week blocks for out Tuesday and Wednesday DIY Clubs:
Tuesday Intermediate DIY Club starts on February 27th
Wednesday (Women-only) Beginners DIY Club starts on February 28th
At the moment we haven’t scheduled a Friday morning DIY Club, but if there is demand for a daytime DIY Club, then we will happy to run one. Please contact us, if you would like a Daytime DIY Club.
We had lots of fun, laughs and learning in our first term. Several of the participants have already signed up for the second term of DIY Clubs. The Clubs are beginning to fill up already.
Why a DIY Club?
BePractical is all about building DIY Confidence.
We know it can be difficult to tackle a DIY project at home if you don’t have the confidence to give it a go. Our DIY Clubs are the stepping stone you need to gain that confidence, and feel more positive about tackling projects at home.
Each DIY Club will happen at the same time/day each week for a 5-week term. (We have tried to run them at different times, to make them as accessible as possible). They will be much less structured than our DIY Courses.
We will still teach useful DIY skills, & practical tips & tricks, but we want these DIY Clubs to be your sessions.
One of the DIY Clubs will be for women-only, but the other clubs will be open to anyone to take part.
You will be able to bring your own DIY issues, worries & projects to the Clubs. We can help you find solutions. You will have plenty of time to try them out, and practise in the DIY Workshop.
- Maybe you just want to build your DIY confidence & practise some new DIY skills in a safe learning environment.
- Perhaps you would feel more confident if you weren't having to try new things out on your own.
- Perhaps you want to try out some different makes & types of tool before you take the plunge and buy one for yourself.
- Perhaps you are desperate to learn how to seal around a bath or shower,
- Maybe you have an ongoing love-hate relationship with your toilet seat, and want to know how to win that battle once & for all.
In our DIY clubs we will provide you with materials, tools and knowledge, and a safe space. All you need to bring are some old clothes, and some curiosity.
You can do as much or as little as you like, and learn at a pace that feels comfortable to you.
The DIY Clubs will be small groups, with the same people each week. Everyone will be bringing different abilities, knowledge and skills to the mix.
By working together and supporting each other, we will all be learning new things together, at a pace which everyone feels comfortable with
When will the DIY Clubs be running?
The next term of DIY Clubs will be starting in January.
We ask you to sign-up for a full term of 5 DIY Club sessions in advance, so that we can manage numbers. Safety is paramount and we need to make sure that everyone has enough time & space to learn safely.
Membership will be on a first come, first served basis. (If you decide to join a club part way through a term, and there is space, that may well be possible)
We are currently only running evening DIY Clubs, but would like to run a daytime club on a Friday.
If you are interested in a daytime DIY Club on a Friday, please email us, and let us know. We will try to accommodate peoples’ preferences as much as we can. We will set up new DIY Clubs, if the demand is there, so please tell us.
Initially we have set up the following DIY Clubs:
Why not get that perfect present for that person who already has everything?
A chance for them to learn those practical skills that they're always talking about...
The Gift Vouchers are redeemable against all our DIY Courses and DIY Clubs, and are available in many different values
