About Home Confidence 2

Kitchen & Bathroom Plumbing

Ready to tackle taps, stop a leaking tap, or finally unblock that stubborn sink?

Home Confidence 2 is your next step after Home Confidence 1. It’s where you roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with the real-life plumbing jobs that pop up in every home.

  • Why Traps matter, and what can go wrong with them.
  • How to unblock a sink, and prevent future blockages
  • Simple maintenance tricks, to keep everything flowing (and odour-free!)

Wastes

Plug holes and pop-up wastes are notorious for causing trouble. We’ll cover:
  • What to do when your pop-up plug won't move, or there's just a hole where the plug should be.
  • How to fix or replace wastes, so you don't have to put up with annoying leaks or stuck plugs

FAQ

How much experience do I need?

This course is designed for beginners or anyone who wants to understand the plumbing in their home.

However, if you have never tried any plumbing before, we strongly recommend that you attend our Home Confidence 1 Course before you do this course.

Home Confidence 1 will give you a good understanding about how plumbing pipework & fittings work. This knowledge and experience will ensure that you get the most out of Home Confidence 2.

You’ll be able to speak to a Plumber and understand what they say to you.

You’ll know where to start looking for potential problems before they start becoming expensive.

We’re all about building your confidence and getting you started on your DIY Journey.

Is this course suitable for women?

Definitely. bePractical DIY specialises in empowering women to tackle home projects with confidence. However, we encourage anyone to sign up to our DIY courses, regardless of gender. We provide a safe space for anyone to learn hands-on practical skills

What should I bring?

We recommend wearing old clothing, and sturdy shoes. In the colder months, we suggest that these are warm, or layered. It can get cold in the Workshop.

If you have long hair, we strongly recommend that, for your own safety,  you keep it tied up while you are using any power tools.

If you would like to bring your own PPE (Personal Protectve Equipment), please feel free to do so. We will provide PPE, but we know that some people would prefer to use their own. (We recommend that you mark them up with your names, so that you can identify them)

Do I need to buy any tools or materials before attending?

Nope! All tools and materials (including jigsaws mitre saws & coping saws) are provided. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn.

How do I book, and where are you based?

You can book online at bePractical DIY. We’re based in Bristol, with small group classes for lots of personal attention.

How much does the Home Confidence 2 Course cost?

The cost for this half-day Home Confidence 2 Course is £80. The price includes use of all tools and materials. We also provide Tea, Coffee & Biscuits. Please feel free to bring any of your own refreshments.

Can I do TWO Courses on the Same Day?

Yes. That’s no problem. We run courses that follow on from each other on the same, so that you can.

We offer a £20 Discount when you book TWO Courses at the same time.

We guarantee that the days will be fun and empowering, but they may also be tiring. Remember you will be learning lots of new information and skills, and so may find the day tiring. Please bear that in mind.
