Taps, Traps & Wastes

1/2 Day Workshop

Price: £70

This half-day DIY course follows on from our half-day Essential Home Plumbing Course

If you have never done any plumbing before, we recommend that you sign up for that course, before doing this course. You will gain skills and knowledge that are essential for this course.

The skills & knowledge that you gain in this course will save you money!

  • Does your house suffer from Dripping Taps?
  • Do your taps move about on the sink?
  • Do you get unpleasant smells from your sinks & basins?
  • Would you know how to unclog a Trap, and put it back together so that it doesn't leak?
  • Does your Plughole keep getting stuck, and refuse to pop-up?
  • Have you struggled to find someone to come and sort out the issue for you?
  • Would you like to prevent and deal with plumbing leaks yourself?

What you will learn….

  • Why we get leaks
  • How to identify potential leaks and prevent them
  • How to repair leaks, and prevent them from happening again
  • How to replace a tap successfully

The first rule of any DIY plumbing is to know how to isolate your water supply

Even if you don’t carry out the work yourself, you will have learnt the language and gained the knowledge you need to be able to speak to a plumber. This will ensure that you get the result that you need from any work carried out in your home.

This a thoroughly hands-on DIY workshop, which will teach you good practice and explain what causes leaks and how to prevent & repair them. You may not even get wet!

You will get to use plumbing tools and fittings, so that you feel confident to deal with issues at home.

We recommend that you complete our “Essential Home Plumbing” course,  before you attend this course, as you will need the skills and knowledge we teach o that course.

As with all our workshops, we want you to leave our DIY Plumbing Course with greater understanding and bags of DIY confidence.

All of our DIY Courses are held at our DIY Workshop in Brislington Village.

What we provide……

We will provide all materials, tools etc. However, if you want to bring along your own tools, ongoing projects etc. then feel free to do so.

We also have hot drinks – tea, coffee etc. Feel free to bring your own additional refreshments, if you want to.

What should you bring……

We recommend wearing old clothing, and sturdy shoes.
If you would like to bring your own PPE (Personal Protectve Equipment), please feel free to do so. We will proide PPE, but we know that some people would prefer to use their own. (We recommend that you mark them up with your names, so that you can identify them)
