Can I do this if I’ve never used a saw?

Absolutely. We’ll start with the basics and move at your pace. You’ll get plenty of hands-on practice using hand saws, mitre saws and other tools, with clear guidance and support throughout the workshop.

Do I need to buy any tools or materials before attending?

No. All tools and materials are provided for the course, including jigsaws, mitre saws and coping saws. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn. If you’d like to bring your own tools to try out, you’re welcome to do so.

Will I learn how to cut skirting board angles and corners?

Yes. You’ll learn how to cut skirting board angles and corners both with and without a mitre saw. We’ll cover inside and outside corners, mitre cuts and simple scribing techniques so you can get neat, professional-looking joints.

Is this course suitable for women and complete beginners?

Definitely. bePractical DIY specialises in empowering women and beginners to tackle home projects with confidence. However, we encourage anyone to sign up to our DIY courses, regardless of gender. We provide a relaxed, supportive space to learn hands-on practical skills with power tools.

How do I book, and where are you based?

You can book online via our bePractical DIY Booking Page.We’re based in Brislington, Bristol, with small group classes so you get lots of personal attention and time to practise.

How much does the Course cost?

The cost for this half-day skirting board course is £80 per person. The price includes use of all tools and materials. We also provide tea, coffee and biscuits, and you’re welcome to bring your own refreshments.
